About Us
La Maison de l'Orfèvre was founded from a simple belief: that exceptional objects deserve a second life.
What began as a personal fascination with antique silver, European craftsmanship, and the timeless beauty of decorative arts gradually evolved into a carefully curated platform dedicated to collectors, interior designers, and enthusiasts who appreciate objects of enduring character.
Founded by Bartholomaeus Barthel, La Maison de l'Orfèvre was created to bridge the gap between remarkable vintage pieces and those who understand their value. From French silver-plated wares and German table services to decorative objects, champagne coolers, trays, centerpieces, and collector's pieces, our collection celebrates craftsmanship that transcends generations. We believe that authentic silver and decorative arts are more than objects; they are witnesses to history, symbols of hospitality, and expressions of refined living. Many of the pieces we present have survived decades, sometimes centuries, carrying with them a story that continues in the homes of their next custodians.
Our Vision
La Maison de l'Orfèvre is not merely a marketplace. Our ambition is to become a trusted destination where collectors, dealers, estate owners, and enthusiasts can present and discover exceptional silver, silver-plated wares, and decorative objects from around the world.
We envision a community where hundreds of collectors may one day showcase their treasures, offering carefully selected pieces to a global audience that values authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Whether a rare French serving piece, an English silver-plated centerpiece, a German champagne cooler, or a decorative object of unknown yet fascinating provenance, our mission remains the same: to preserve, present, and circulate objects worthy of admiration.
