Purchasing, Shipping & Returns

  • La Maison de l'Orfèvre specializes in vintage silver, silver-plated wares, decorative arts, and carefully selected European objects.

    Many pieces offered through our collection are several decades old and are acquired for their craftsmanship, character, historical significance, and decorative appeal. Natural signs of age, use, patina, tarnish, minor scratches, and manufacturing variations should be expected and are considered part of each object's authenticity.

  • All items are sold exactly as photographed and described. We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate descriptions, dimensions, and condition information; however, slight variations, measurement differences, and age-related characteristics are not considered defects. Buyers are encouraged to review all photographs and descriptions carefully before completing a purchase.

  • Unless otherwise stated, all sales are final. Due to the unique nature of vintage, antique, and decorative objects, purchases may not be returned, exchanged, or refunded based on age-related wear, patina, tarnish, dimensions, weight, appearance, or other characteristics visible in the listing photographs.

  • Orders are generally prepared and dispatched within one to three business days. We currently ship throughout the United States and may offer international shipping on a case-by-case basis. Orders over $500 qualify for complimentary standard shipping within the continental United States. Shipping carriers may include USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on the size, weight, value, and destination of the item.

    Every item is carefully packed using protective materials appropriate for fragile and valuable decorative objects. For higher-value purchases, signature confirmation may be required upon delivery.

  • If an item arrives damaged during transit, the purchaser must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide photographs of:

    • The item

    • The shipping box and packaging

    • The shipping label

    Failure to provide timely notice may affect our ability to pursue a claim with the carrier.

  • Descriptions are prepared in good faith and reflect our best understanding of each item's age, origin, materials, and condition. Attributions, maker identifications, dates, and country-of-origin statements are offered as informed opinions and should not be interpreted as formal appraisals, certifications, or third-party authentications unless expressly stated.

    La Maison de l'Orfèvre's liability shall not exceed the original purchase price paid for the item. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the purchase, ownership, transportation, use, or resale of any item.

  • These terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Washington, United States. By completing a purchase, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms of Sale & Client Information.
